Member Retention In the housing market the key phrase is "location, location, location. But in the fitness industry the key phase is, retention, retention, retention. Sometimes it's easier to get a potential member to join than it is to keep that member for years. Too many health club focus so much attention on selling new memberships but will make minimal efforts to keep the new member satisfied. There are some health clubs that simply don't have the personnel to handle member usage tracking, complaints, questions and suggestions. In some cases it may be a matter of offering more variety of services.
